Cupping

Dry Cupping

Dry cupping involves the application of a heated cup on the skin of the back, chest, abdomen, or buttocks. The cooling of the air is then thought to create a suction effect. Sometimes used as alternatives to glass cups.

What are the benefits?

Dry cupping therapy is a practice that involves briefly applying rounded inverted glass cups to certain parts of the body using a vacuum effect. Some proponents suggest that the drawing of the skin inside the cups increases blood flow to the area.

Dry Cupping is often recommended as a complementary therapy for the following conditions:

  • Back pain
  • Headache or migraine
  • Neck and shoulder pain

The benefits of cupping include local pain relief and muscle relaxation. It improves overall health by removing the energy blockages that helps to flow of healthy energy . For athletes, cupping may help increase blood flow to a particular muscle region or help reduce pain.

How does it Work?

To create the suction inside the cups, the practitioner creates a vacuum by placing a flammable substance using alcohol, inside each cup and then ignites that substance.

Is Dry Cupping good for you?

Yes! Dry Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.

Wet Cupping

is also known as Hijama or medicinal bleeding, where blood is drawn by local suction from a small skin incision. The cupping cups were made of cattle horns with a valve mechanism in it to create a partial vacuum by sucking the air out, Cupping is still practiced in anywhere as part of relaxing and/or health regimens.
